Surrey in Stained Glass
This window was inspired by local flora and fauna around my customers house. The local pond and beauty spot is recognised by the flowing water and the reeds to the right of the window. There is a dragon fly hovering over the water just about to rest on the reed. The ancient turnpike is evoked using mouth blown brown and amber glass and sweeps down the window. This was a well know route and was also thought to be a haunt of highwaymen! There are dandelion clocks and seed heads depicted within the panel across the turnpike.
Sweet briar rose winds its way across the bottom and tangles with the bramble. In the distance we are looking towards Leith Hill and Coldharbour.
